NEW SEASON, NEW STREET STYLE
AS SEEN AT PARIS FASHION WEEK
While some of the world’s most renowned designers revealed their AW24 collections on the runways of Paris Fashion Week, the streets of the French capital attracted their very own audience. From Safari Aesthetic to skin-baring Soft Sensibility, the styles of the attendees were just as captivating as those on the catwalks. Zalando presents the hottest trends for the upcoming season straight from the streets of Paris:
GODDESS ENERGY
A celebration of divine feminine energy, this season is filled with draping robes and golden hues, inspired by ancient female deities, queens and warriors. After stars on the Grammy red carpet, and other celebrities recently turned heads with glistening gowns channeling goddess energy, this trend has become an occasion-wear favorite.
SAFARI ENERGY
Safari jackets were spotted in classic colors from sand to, less conventional, cherry red. Striking a balance between utilitarianism and quiet luxury, the safari aesthetic can be embraced with a belted jumpsuit adorned with practical envelope pockets and a pair of strappy sandal heels.
MODERN CLASSICS
Throwing it all the way back to the romantic baroque periods, opera gloves and corset-style dresses with basque-cut waistlines are reminiscent of the iconic era. With many celebrities channeling baroque beauty with an elevated twist during this year’s awards season, the regal look is enjoying a comeback on the streets of Paris.
Y2K STILL NOT DEAD
00’s nostalgia is still alive and kicking with baggy jeans, chunky jewelry and metallic prints on trend for the second year running. Designers continued to feature Y2K looks in their SS24 collections suggesting the trend will stay relevant this season while other decades begin to gain more momentum.
SOFT SENSIBILITY
Skin is in – sheer fabrics in gelato colors were seen floating through the streets of Paris. Redefining masculinity, transparent tank tops, shirts and polos all featured in SS24 menswear collections. With an increasing number of celebrities owning transparent fits, the trend is set to gain further traction.
EARLY 2010'S
Evidence that we’re also beginning to move forward through the decades, styles of the early 2010s were seen this week – from embellished headbands to distressed shorts paired with more modern dad sneakers. Another more controversial silhouette of the era was also sighted this week – peplum tops. Today, the love-hate design takes on a more subtle structure with a less dramatic flare.
CORPCORE AND OFFICE UNDONE
Business as usual – corporate attire continues to prove popular, but this season sees a more carefree approach with relaxed tailoring, oversized blazers and baggy pinstripe pants taking center stage. As seen in several SS24 designer collections, corpcore’s popularity extends beyond the office space.
